Hi I have a studio 15 with vista home premium and I am trying to shair a printer on my wife's vista computer. I accidently enabled password required for printer shairing and I am unable to get print shairing setup. So how do I turn off the password required thing? There is a way to do so I just cannot figure it out. Please help or point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

I think the link provided by Dude55 is quite detail for printer sharing..

Can you share folders/files between the 2 machines?

To access a shared printer from a computer running Windows Vista, do the following:
    1. Click Start, and then click Network. The Network window displays a list of computers in the workgroup of the computer.
    2. Double-click the name of the computer containing the shared printer that you want to access.
    3. Right-click the shared printer that you want to access, and then click Connect. Alternately, you can double-click on Printers to see just the list of shared printers, and then right-click the shared printer that you want to access, and then click Connect.

Thanks for the post. But, been there done that when I R click the shared printer and click connect I get " This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I am logged in as system administrator and this is a vista home premium 32bit studio 15 system. How do I disable this restriction?

    Figured it out.
I finally ran across a site where I actually found someone who had a problem similar to mine. Someone posted the answer!!!!!!!!!!!! Real simple, with UAC off you cannot install a network printer. I turned UAC on and tried to install the network shared printer and it worked. Hope this helps someone else.

This is good to know. :) All my current machines have XP, so I'm not familiar with Vista. However, my new Studio 15 will come with Vista and my husband and I use a networked printer.

    Thanks for posting the answer!
