I've been looking at this site for more then a week now trying to find information on laptops. I plan on buying a laptop in the next week and have decide to buy from Dell. I've been looking at the Inspiron 9300 and have been trying to configure the i9300 to fit my budget of $1700 or under. I plan to use the laptop for playing games(mostly counterstrike), watch movies, burn cds, and internet. Can someone help me configure a 9300 for $1700 or less? Also I've looked at the dell coupons on this site and I'm confused on which one to use.

Just like the sig of LuckMC11 says: 1.86 GHZ Pentium M | Intel 750 Sonoma | 512 MB DDR RAM | 80 GB hard drive | 256 NVidia GeForce Go 6800
But... I would go with smallest HD and Mem, cas for the difference you can get better and what's important: extra HD :and more mem for the same money + little if you will go all the way.
I had the same config +2y in home service for 1300+tax but with 40G HD and 256MB mem (got another 256 on ebay for $25 ;O)
So, there you go. Spend extra on whatever you like.
PS: forgot to mention, if you wish I can send you that 256 stick for the same I got it from ebay, since I have no Inspiron no more. :decision: :budget: :750: :hardfind: :dell: -
thanks for the help. I know I could upgrade the ram but can you upgrade the hd inside? I know i could get an external hd but i heard its better to get the hd size you want first.

The stuffz that you hear lots of time are just an imaginationz of the peepelz without one.
Look at it this way: to go from 40 to 80 gz you pay +-80 bux, this is the price for a 60 gz HD. Now, same money, but you have 20 gz more HD space, and if you spent just a 20 more, you get a whole 40gz HD space over what you'll get with the laptop from Dell.
To upgrade HD all you have to do is to unscrew a couple bolts, pull that thing out, change the caddy to a different drive, stick it back and screw everything as it was. In an IBM case it takes me around, eeh, two minutes a most (It takes me about 15 to replace CPU in it, and that includes taking two machines apart and putting them back together ;o) -
Keep an eye on those coupons. I lost the $750.00 coupon because the time span expired 24 hours sooner than I expected. So I waited another week and got a 35% off coupon which saved me $100.00 more than the $750.00 coupon. But I had to use it quickly as not only is there a limited time, there is also a limited number of coupons available. That particular 35% off coupon had I think a 10,000 user limit and was gone in one day. I saw a lot of complaints about how soon the offer ended but I was one of those who actually got the offer. So, my advice is to not be in a hurry, find out which day of the week new ones are posted and jump on a good one immediatly. Also know what configuration you want so your not configuring at the last minute and make a regrettable decision.

actually the total amount of the 35% off coupon was 50000 uses... i read that on the coupon's details on dells website
