Hey people, I am trying to troubleshoot why I can't connect to my carrier at EVDO Rev-A speeds. My provider is Telus who is basically saying that there is no reason why i shouldn't be able to connect using the REV-A technology and that it must be a problem with the Dell Card. Dell basically hung up on me insiting its a problem on Telus's end. So now i'm stuck to troubleshoot this myself.

If someone running on REV-A EVDO would be kind enough to run a couple tests and post back then that would be great, as i'm not even sure if i'm on REV-A or not. I'm guessing not based on my pings and upload speed below.

Can someone tell me if in their utility it shows "EVDO REV-A" in the top right of the utility, where mine says only "EVDO"?:

Can someone please ping google to see what they get. Heres mine:

What kind of speeds do you get on REV-A? My upload sucks so I can't be on REV-A:

    My experience:

I have the 5720 (Verizon) unit and i was only getting "1x RTT" speed
ie "National Access" and could never connect at Rev A speeds.

Turns out the VZW rep had stuck me on National Access only instead of
Broadband Access. A visit to the local VZW store and a simple account change allowed me to connect to "Rev A" and get the higher speeds.

My Dell branded Verizon client does indeed display wether I am 1X RTT or EVDO Rev A connected.

Judging by your download speed, I'd say you connect Rev A, but your software is not saying so .....

Your plea may need to go to another Telus user who has the same
    software to really find out.

    Good luck

It is not offered via Verizon, so I think my Dell branded Verizon
client has been limited to not give me that option.

The same card for Sprint specifically list that service being available, but
I can not verify the option is available under Dell's Sprint client software since
    I don't have that software.

I think GPS capability is a nice touch ... had I not already been with Verizon, I would have tried Sprint out for WWAN access and GPS.
