I am considering buying a dell E1505 but I am not sure which configuration will give me the best performance.
Here is a list of my options:
Processors:
Intel® Core Duo Proc T2500 (2GHz/667MHz/2 X 1MB L2 Cache)
Intel® Core Duo Proc T2400 (1.83GHz/667MHz/2 X 1MB L2 Cache)
Intel® Core Duo Proc T2050 (1.60GHz/533MHz/2 X 1MB L2 Cache)
RAM:
1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz, 2 Dimm
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHZ, 2 DIMM
Does anybody have any suggestions?![]()

Might try completing the FAQ so we have an idea of what you need. The T2500 and 2GB will provide the best performance, but without knowing what you want to use it far, it's hard to say.
If you are considering 2GB of RAM, upgrade it aftermarket and get the minimum from Dell. They overcharge. -
Obviously, depends on how much you are willing to spend. If money is no object, go for best of the best.
If not, then get a better processor - and anyway don't get teh Core Duo with 533 mhz of bus. That won't feel like an improvement from the Pentium M's.
I would choose the T2400 and 1GB of ram if I was strapped for cash. -
yep, get the T2400
it has the higher GSB should you choose to upgrade the ram yourself you can get 667mhz -
In my honest opinion completing the FAQ for this particuar thread I posted will be a waste of time.
The post was made to determine which processor and ram configuration would result in the greatest overall performance. As for what I will use it for here are my 3 main uses:
-CAD and other design architecture programs
-games such as WoW and NFS U and NFS MW
-watching videos
Hope this helps!

Edit:
my apologies Chaz and all other viewers if my comments were in anyway offensive.
I was a bit irratated earlier when I posted this reply. I just could not find a reason to go through FAQ process once again when I thought I had worded the question in a way that was direct and to the point. I guess I was wrong. Perhaps next time I will just complete the FAQ and skip the confusion.

That's alright.
I would go for the minimum RAM Dell offers and get a 1GB stick aftermarket. They are around $70-$80 on Newegg.
For the CPU, the T2500 is a bit overpriced, but I would go for it. T2400 if you are on a budget. -
To everone else out there, keep the suggestions and opinions coming, I extend my apreciation to all that post.
