I can confirm that the above program works for my 1737. Also, any ATI driver older than, i believe, 8.10 can be overclocked with the ati clock tool ver 9.8. I HAVE been able to load older drivers with windows 7, but it is a pain.

I did notice something strange though, with older drivers and the ati clock tool, i could OC the core all the way up to 675 mhz with no problems, with GPUtool i can only get it to 590 before it starts to give me problems. Posted about it on the GPUtool forum, but didnt get a response. The actual stock clock speed for the 3650 is supposed to be 600 mhz, but dell has them underclocked. I only got another 50 mhz out of the vram. Im rather annoyed that dell went with DDR2 for the video memory.

Ideally id like to be able to modify the 3650's bios, but as far as i can tell, this doesnt seem to be possible with this particular laptop/GPU

I used techpowerup!'s GPUTool to overclock mine, but imo, the performance boosts were negligible and not worth the increased heat and power consumption.

On 4650, I got about 15-20% performance increase (6500 to 7800 in 3dmark06 alone). Haven't had a chance to do significant testing in actual games.

What version of the drivers are you all using ?

you said In need 8.10 but I only have the 32 bit version of these old
drivers so do you thing it would work anyway in Win7 64x or do I need
absolutely 8.10 64x and if so where do I get them ?

    Thanks

    Driver Version = 8.681.0.0
    Driver Date = 24/11/2009

    Catalyst 9.12

    My clock is 600MHz
    My memory clock is 530MHz

I'm using a ZALMAN laptop cooler.

This thread is over a year dead, and just2exy hasn't made a post in 4 months, so I doubt you'll get a reply from him. As far as gpu tool goes, what exactly happens when you start a game? If the screen goes black, then you get a video driver error, then you've overclocked too high, and you need to turn it back a notch.
