Ok I am going to go ahead and order the Studio 15 as soon as I figure out some things...First let me say this laptop will be used mainly for vacations but occasionally around the house. We have 2 desktops at home so we'll use the desktops more.

Which of these is better ?

    1) Size: 250GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) [Included in Price]
    2) Size: 320GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) [add $50 or $2/month1]
    3) Speed: 200GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) with Free Fall Sensor [add $150 or $5/month1]

which of these are better? Will the Blue Ray let you watch regular DVD's too?
8X Slot Load CD / DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-R Drive) [Included in Price]
6X Slot Load Bluray (BD) Combo Drive (BD Read Only) [add $200 or $6/month1]

Which of these will work better in a hotel setting? And how do I know if the router I have at home will work on either one? It is a Motorola WR 850 G

Dell 1397 Wireless-G Card [Included in Price]
    Dell 1510 Wireless-N Card [add $25 or $1/month1]

Do I need Bluetooth for anything? Or will I in the future?

Is the Integrated Audio thing no good?

Should I order speakers for watching movies or are they necessary?

What other accessories do I NEED?

What software do y'all recommend I add or take away?

Should I get the warranty and Accident Plan?

    2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 [subtract $100]
    3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 [subtract $50]
4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 [Included in Price]

I know these are alot of questions but I had rather know the answers BEFORE ordering this contraption lol..Thanks Y'all and God Bless

better isn't really the term i would use. The 7200RPM will spin faster and allow for slightly faster data transfers. It just depends on the amount of HD space you feel you will need, and how fast you need the computer to read the info from the HD. As with all parts of a computer, it really depends on what you're using the computer for.

the blu-ray will allow you to watch regular DVDs as well as blu-ray. Depends on what you want to do. The blu-ray drive will play blu-ray movies.. a regular drive will not. The choice is yours. I'm not ready to throw money at blu-ray.. i'm satisfied with regular DVDs personally. HD hasn't blown me away, I could honestly care less about it at the moment. But once again depends on you.

G is the standard singnal at the moment, N will read G signals... it's a $25 option and the N is faster and expected to become the standard. It's only a $20 upgrade. I would go N at this point personally. You should be fine with either though.

Do you have anything that connects by bluetooth? Do you plan to buy anything that connects that way? Answer those questions, you will get your answer.
    Will be just fine honestly.

I would buy the computer and then decide after you own the computer if this is necessary and practical for you. After market speakers are easy to get and you don't need to spend a whole bunch of money to get a nice set.

Maybe a bag to carry the laptop in? Then again you can go aftermarket with this, will probably be cheaper. Do you want a wireless mouse, only you can answer these questions. Me personally 0 accessories at point of purchase. Anything i may need down the road, i'll buy down the road somewhere else.

AVG FREE for virus protection, Abiword for a word processor. Both are free and much better than the works and mcaffee which they try to put on your system in my opinon.

Do you have children who may damage the laptop? Depends on you man, Is it worth it? perhaps.. Depends on your budget.. if the budget allows for it, i'd get it.

2GB RAM you can get Ram for much cheaper (like $40 for 4 GB)at a site like newegg.com and install it yourself in all of about 30 seconds.

Considering this'll not be your primary system, I'd say you should go for the 320GB 5400RPM drive. Not only you'll get 120GB more, you'll also save $100. The 7200RPM drive will generate more heat, will lead to a short battery life (comparatively), and won't give you noticeable performance increase. It boosts start-up times of applications, but I think that's about it.

Answer it yourself, will you be watching lots of Blu-Ray movies? I won't buy Blu-Ray drive yet, because of the price. I'd say, go for the DVD burner, and if, in future, you need to work with BD, you can just buy it from somewhere and install it. It'll be a lot cheaper as well by then.

I don't know much about these.

I'd say you should go for Bluetooth. It's not ver expensive, and you don't know when you might need it. Maybe when you're connecting your (or someone else's) phone, or if you bought a wire-less keyboard/mouse/combo, you'll need it then.

    It is good enough.

Speakers? From DELL? I'd say no. They'll (DELL'll) give you very good quality ear-buds, and they should do. If you do wish to get speakers (like if you want to watch movies/listen to music with family/friends), I'd suggest buying it from some other place/company, which are known good makers of speakers, rather than DELL/

    A laptop carrycase.

    None.

    Yes, 1 year initially.

As said above, get 2 GB RAM, sell it/give it to your friend/sibling/etc, and then buy 4GB from else where IF you need 4 GB in the first place.

    Say, wanna go outdoors? :D

Why buy a studio? Vacation purposes and occassional use really doesn't fit the need for a $1300-1500 laptop. Just get an Inspiron... - The power is plenty for those purposes
