I am having some crashing problems with some of my games(Wic, Supcom) so I attempted to download hotfixes from: the nvidia website, however when I attempt to run these programs I get a message saying that it is not supported on my system... So now I am trying to update my video driver from forceware version 155.63....

I downloaded the latest 169.25 forceware from nvidias site but when I attempt to install I get an error message saying that setup cannot find any drivers compatible with my hardware.

Can anybody walk me through this?

Gah... I think I shot myself in the foot, after downloading a new driver I unistalled the original(and new I think) driver and then was prompted by the comp to install a driver for the 8600, I clicked ok but it automatically decided to re-install my old driver.

Now I cant find it under the Uninstall option in the control panel... nvidias just gone from there
How can I uninstall it if the option doesnt even exist in the control panel?

When you install a new driver, it automatically uninstalls the previous one.

nvidia does not put out new drivers to support their mobile cards. as the previous poster says, laptopvideo2go.com has all the video drivers you will ever need for your laptop

Yup. Don't download from nVidia as they're not optimized for the mobile GPUs.

I know... but I am talking about the optimization patches that they put out(hotfixes) http://www.nvidia.com/object/windows_vista_hotfixes.html

Perhaps one of the modded drivers from LT2GO would support those?
