I am just curious how it works.. I am about to order 1505 and wanted to use the 3% off, when you do it through fatwallet.com. However I am not sure how it is done. I registered at fatwallet and then it redirects me to dell's site. And here is my question - how do I get the discount? Does it work like a coupon and deducts from the total amount of your purchase , right before you pay for it , or not? Any help will be appreciated!!! Thanks

I would assume it would show up at the end, where it lists all the specs and shows the total price.

No, FW will send you a "rebate" cheque after some time.

Never did it myself but that's what I've always heard from reading. The discount won't be reflected on your final price at Dell.

You signup for an account at FatWallet.com. Click on "Stores" & look for the Dell link. It'll open up a new Window where you place your order. In a couple of weeks a credit of 3% should show up on "Balance & History" under "My Account" on Fatwallet. I believe it takes 4 months for the amount to clear, & at that point you can request a check or payment via Paypal.

It may be easier to just sign up for Dell's Prefered Account. Think of it as Dell's own credit system to avoid the % lost to credit card charges. Almost every retail store has a system similar.

Same thing, but direct with dell and you get that % instantly off the current purchase and lame FW doesnt get the referral fee.

On "most" checkouts, the DPA checkout option is available for that % off.

Actually, Fatwallet is a rebate program similar to eBates. So you can get the 3% back from Fatwallet IN ADDITION to 2% off from Dell DPA. You're not limited to one or the other.

So no, it's not the same thing.

EDIT: FatWallet FAQ & Animated Demo. It doesn't get much easier than that.

Sheesh, FW is getting at least 3% on referrals. I wonder how deep in Dell's pocket FW became.

Well if FatWallet is willing to pay their users 3%, I'm sure they're getting a much larger percentage from Dell; but frankly, I could care less how much they make as long as I'm able to benefit from it.

Not sure what makes you think FW is making 3%, but is there anybody that's NOT sucking up to Dell trying to make a buck or two? Given the opportunity, would you mind making 2 cents from each of the tens of thousands of puters that dell spits out every day? For what it is, Fatwallet has always been good. Michael Dell is just doing things the good old american way...
