    Hello everyone!

I searched around a bit, but was unable to find exactly what I was looking for here.

I have a brand new DELL VOSTRO 1500 using Windows XP.
I bought it for my mother as a first computer.
Over the holiday, a friend came over and unpacked it to set up some things for me.

He did however cause me some grief in the end as he disabled the sliders on the touchpad. He claims that most people don't like that feature, therefore he removed it.

I really wanted my mother to learn a touchpad with all the features, and the inabilty to scroll web pages on the pad and having to use the arrow keys only really sucks!

He is not sure how to put it back.

I have searched high and low on the pc to find the function but cannot. I can see the "DELL TOUCHPAD" item in the add/remove portion of control panel, but it only allows removal. The driver must be here somewhere.

Will anyone be kind enough to help me turn this feature back on please?

    Barry

You might need to reinstall the drivers as there should be a small touchpad icon in the system tray. In the options there is a "Scrolling" feature which you'll need to turn on.

Yeah...he removed that as well. I need to find the drivers. Not sure where they reside. The touch pad works, it's just the scroll features that are gone.

Will explain where to go after I run msconfig from the command line please?
I have a basic knowledge of windows and pc's, however I haven't done anything extensive since the dos days.
I need a little walking through.

BTW: Thank you both thus far.

    Thanks Nizzy.

I am a bit lost however. The link to the driver...the file is like 12 mb.
    Is that correct?

This is a new pc, and I have all the disks shipped with it.
Is the driver I need on those disks?

And as far as running msconfig, what so I do once in msconfig?
