Hello everyone, it's been a while since I was here. This site and the people here were extremely helpful to me back when I was getting my rig 9 months ago so I'm hoping you can help me with this latest task.

A few months ago I decided to order the bluetooth adapter for my laptop since it had not been an option when I first purchased my computer since this model had just been released and Dell was still getting all of the customization sorted out. So I ordered the part and everything was fine until I went to install it. When looking at the instructions there seemed to be a mounting bracket that the chip is "caged" in when it's in the PC so it doesn't flop around and get damaged. However I was missing this part since the adapter seemed to have too much room to move in the space and because there was a place to mount a screw. I did make an attempt to order the part I needed but other stuff came up so I never followed through. Now I'm wondering if there's something I could improvise to keep the bluetooth module secure inside the laptop so it doesn't move around. I'm thinking a piece of foam would work but I don't want something to overheat and damage the inside of my machine or something. Sorry I can't post pics but you can find them in the Dell online manuals for installing a bluetooth module for an E1405.

Thnaks for finding the part #, but as I said before I'm looking for a different solution because I'd rather not spend an hour negotiating with someone that "no talk engliush good" before I actually order the part.

actually its kinda easy and painless just call customer support and they can place the order for you also the missing bracket does not effect the bt module at all it just rattles around a bit

You could try using the online chat if you don't want to deal with trying to translate what they're saying over the phone.

Well this story has a happy ending. I installed it today and there's actually less roll than I thought. I tucked the connector cable into the small gap between one end of the chip and the side of the laptop and now it doesn't move at all and works fine. btw I didn't have to put anything in there like I thought I would.
