I noticed this problem with my studio 1537, I usually use a external bluetooth mouse at home, but I don't bring it to school. When I do use the mouse I disable the mouse touchpad.

However the problem is that if i kept the mouse on and connected and allow the laptop to sleep, when I turn it on the next day at school I don't have mine external mouse with me and the touchpad is still disabled, which I thought it would have automatically enable itself since it doesn't detect an external mouse.

I was just wondering if anyone does this and might have already figured out a way to solve the problem. So far the only way I can fix this problem at school without using external mouse is to restart the laptop all over after I wake it up from sleep first.

The best thing I can think of is to bring the mouse with you, reconnect it when you bring the notebook out of sleep, and then disconnect it when it's ready.

Other than that, you can set the touchpad options to leave the touchpad on, even if an external mouse is present.

I suppose, but the reason I disable it is because sometimes I brush against the pad when I'm typing and it gets annoying when suddenly i start to activate all the random stuff by hotkey when I'm typing a paper :(

    Yeah, it is pretty annoying.

Another (slightly more tedious) option would be to disable the touchpad while you're using the mouse, then re-enable it just before you disconnect the mouse and put the computer to sleep.

Ya, that's the other idea i had, but it just seem like so much trouble and you'd think a laptop like this would be programmed smarter than this
