I have a high wear level on my dell and was wondering what caused it, the laptop is less than a year old. I don't ever fully charge except once in a while and I do the same thing with my Toshiba and after 3 years on the original battery, I only have a wear level of 3 percent. Anyone have any ideas, any idea on how to maybe correct this, or do I just need to replace the battery.

You can try to calibrate the battery by doing a full discharge and recharge... but I doubt you'll "recover" any capacity. For the most part the quality of Dell batteries seem to fluctuate pretty badly, and you got a bad apple. Replacing the battery will fix this "problem".

Ouch ya sounds like you got a bum battery. Some 1545 are still in Dell warranty, did you try to call up Dell?

I just checked to see if you were part of the dell battery recall, but you're not. So now you don't have to worry that the battery will explode in your lap.

Definitely try to get a new battery for free from Dell, whatever it takes.
