I am in the process of trying to install XP Pro on my M1330 and have a road block. Getting the SATA drivers installed.
My main issue is the "press f6" while my usb key is plugged in. I have tried hitting f6 the WHOLE time it boots up into xp pro and a) does not tell em when to press f6 b) I press it at every chance just in case, it doesn't do a single damn thing.
Can someone help? I already know about the guide on here that someone did but all they say is "(The other way is to put SATA drivers on a USB stick and hit F6 during initial Windows setup...)" which doesn't explain in detail.
I have also read that on the notebook, boot off of Windows XP disc
Right after the "Press any key to boot from CD" screen, it says something like
press F6 to load additional drivers. Press F6, and it will keep going.
Later it will ask you to specify which driver you want to install.
Press "S" to specify. make sure the notebook has the floppy available.
Select the driver second from the top named
"Intel(R) 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH8M-E/M")
It actually doesn't say press f6 in that spot.
Can someon offer some help please?
