I just picked up a very cheap Dell Inspiron 700m. Good for what I need (network) and it does more then most netbooks.

This is my first laptop that has one of these glossy bright screens and I'm not sure what to think.

My other laptops were a Dell Latitude D400 and a Dell Latitude D610. They screens were VERY bright, clear and things white look white.

Problem with this new to me laptop, the things not super bright, and well, the white looks like it has a yellowish tint to it.

Is this normal for these screens? Just doesnt very clear and bright to me.

It could just be the make of the screen. I've seen significant differences between individual D600 and D610 screens, so maybe you got two screens of a certain make in your D400 and D610, and a display of a different make in the 700m.
