I thought I'd post an assurance in thanks for the comments that helped me fix my WIFI.
Though I have the 1280x800 non-glare screen, everything is working. I do not hear any static from headphones. No grains =P
I'm going to try some gaming later tonight.
Try not to be discouraged by all the negative posts!

thanks for the positivity. I felt like all the bashing on the 1520 was hyperbolic, and its nice to have some confirmation.

Has anyone with a screen that is larger than 1280x800 posted that their screen is good? It seems like the problem is tied to resolution, and the glossy coating, so your screen should not be affected.

wsxga gets it, but wxga+ gets it the worst.
-
I haven't seen any posts from someone with WSXGA who had a good screen--it was one of the reasons I decided not to try for a screen replacement

if you browse through these forums, people have complained of more than grainy screens. I've heard of awful headphone noise, bulging keyboards, bad motherboards, and the list goes on... true, the grainy screen has taken the spotlight, but that was hardly the only complaint about the 1520.
it was this that i was replying to, and nothing in the thread name gives the suggestion of being about grainy screens.
however, as long as we are on the topic, there have been complaints from those who ordered the 1280x800 GLOSSY screen.
all of these complaints in the forums have made me nervous about receiving my 1520. but with more positive reviews like lovehex's, i'm feeling a lot better. -
The problem is in the glossy coating not the size but 1280 is the only with anti glare.

just out of curiousity... why did you cancel your 1520 order? you've seemed fairly favorable towards it in other threads.

My color delayed my order which pushed the ship date into the middle of my vacation to mexico. I had to cancel it or risk it sitting outside my house for a week by itself.
-
ah... i can see how that might be undesirable.
