    Hello,
Just unpacked my 700m today, and everyone is right about the screen - it's very nice. A quick question, I opened up the memory bay on the bottom, only one slot, the other is under the keyboard (I assume) - can I access it to upgrade the ram?
    Thanks in advance!

Sorry to thread hijack... but have you tried the mic jack at all? I heard dell fixed it but I've never heard any real confirmation of it

Before you open up the keyboard to get to the RAM slot, you should not need to go in there to upgrade. The bottom of the 700m is where you should upgrade first. Remove the installed chip and install your bigger chip.

The slot under the keyboard is where you will find 256 meg standard chip and you only need to go in here if you want to max out your RAM with say 2 gig RAM total (1 for bottom and 1 under keyboard).

I'd be too scared to open up the keyboard lol, I'd only open up the one slot underneath the machine. Just be careful!
