Does anybody know when Dell is planning on releasing a newer model for the 700m? I'm thinking of buying one but I can wait if they're going to release a newer model soon.

As far as I know (someone correct me if i'm wrong please), they haven't release any details about a new 700m model. I checked their press releases, and they haven't made any new releases about Inspiron models since the XPS2 and 9300. They announced the 9300 in Feb. but didn't start taking sales til around March. If the same process holds true for all the Inspiron models, then we won't know until a month before hand.

there won't be anything new soon. I do think Dell could do with a 14" screen model with some good multimedia options comparable to what the HP dv1000 offers -- and there was rumor of such a notebook a few months back -- but things have been quiet on that front. One thing to note is that the 600m was supposed to be phased out back when the 700m was released, the 600m has been around forever now, but if a notebook continues to sell well Dell will keep offering it and such is the case with the 600m. The 700m is a good seller for them as well...I don't think they'll be doing anything soon.
