    Im confused.

The Vostro 1400 doesn't have any new 8400m gs drivers posted, but the 1420 does (as of July 1st). Considering they're both the same unit with a different chassis, shouldn't they both have the new 8400m gs drivers?

    Food for thought.

The new 175.97 drivers will work fine with the 1400 or any model too, without modification.

hehe, yeah thats the new drivers Im talking about. The last time I tried laptop2go drivers for my 8400m gs, when I closed the lid on my notebook, the display didnt go off. Im pretty sure the display doesnt turn off when the lids closed with those drivers, but then again the last time I tried was October. So unless somethings changed, please let me know. I dont want my display to remain on. With the Dell drivers, it does turn off.
    Rock on!

    depends

if a) u have warranty, hp will replce
    b) if u run out of warranty, and nVidia doesnt admit guilt, bad luck... go to ebay for parts
