New 9 Cell Battery Delay

After hearing about the horror stories of the 6 cell battery delays, I ordered an XPS M1530 with a 9 cell battery on the 6/18/08. However, now that the 9 cell battery has been delayed 16 days, it seems like its worse than the 6 cell dilemma. Do you think I will be affected by this delay or did I order early enough? From what happened to the people who ordered 6 cell in May, it looks like I'm in deep trouble...

 

If your order is not already in the building stage, you will be affected by this.

 

Well I called last friday, and it said my order was in the build stage, so I am assuming I shouldn't be affected by this since the delay occurred today? It still says my ESD is 6/30/08 so hopefully I won't get this huge delay.

 

orderd mine on 17/06 (with 9-cell) and it should be here tommorrow . In UK BTW

I keep trying to convince myself that it's not a returned or cancelled order, but as i was stuck in phase 2 for four days and then jumped straight to phase 5......mmm well we will see

 

Well, you ordered yours 1 day ahead of me, so hopefully the same thing will happen to me tomorrow

 

Just ordered the XPS 1530, Battery will delay delivery till Aug. 6th, I was told. Oh, well, still think I got a great deal.

 

Does this mean that the 6-cell battery delay is over? Atleast on the Candian site it lists the 9-cell as having a delay, but no delay for the 6-cell.

 

I called and asked them to switch mine from a 9-cell to a 6-cell and the rep said it would take a few weeks longer to deliver because there is still a shortage of 6-cell's, but I called again and they said there wasn't a shortage. So I talked to a sales rep online and asked. No 6-cell shortage. Called again.... guess what? He said there is a 6-cell shortage. Soooo confusing, so I'm just going to leave it alone -.-

 

I was browsing thru the Studio specs and noticed there is no delay for the 9 cell battery. Are they a different battery than the XPS one?

 

Sales rep emailed my school saying the main cause of the delay was the freaking six cell battery. This was yesterday BTW. I doubt the customer support reps even have current information on these things. they most likely just say one thing or another to get the customer off the line.

I really hate Dell's customer service. and to think years ago it had the best.

 

Delay for my Vostro 1310 is apparently the 9-Cell now. Awesome ESD was today, now its delayed another week

 

I don't know what is going on, but what delay, I ordered 1530 with 9 cell earlier this week, supposed to be delivered first week of August, just got an e-mail that it is being shipped today. What gives????

 

You must have some good karma or something. Consider yourself lucky if that e-mail was actually true.

 

Ordered mine on 6/18/08, and it is still in the boxing stage. I think that means I missed the 9 cell delay though.

 

Same exact thing with me apes...I can't complain but I don't understand it either..2nd day business shipping for me, should be here tues or wednesday.
