New Dell Inspiron 1420 shipping date

i bought my inspiron 1420 laptop on august 1st and the estimated ship date is 8/23/07. My friend told me that there's a shortage on 14inch monitors and it will take longer to be ship. Is it true?

 

You might get it on the 23 or before, should not be delayed

 

hmm, it might be delayed. a lot of us who ordered ours mid July have been delayed to either mid august or closer to the end of august.

what color did you pick out? What are your specs?

 

Can I ask of a favor? If you ordered the accidental completecare, can you check the status on your lojack? Im wondering something. Thanks

 

yeah, all of my stuff is in preproduction.. Its so annoying to call the automated status only to hear "preproduction" day after day after week after week. grr

okay... i just changed my order to a 1520 Jet Black n the ESD is 8/22/07 1 day sooner!! lol

 

Please let us know how fast it goes through the stages. I am tempted to do the same thing

My friend and I also have the same order date as yours. My friend got a 1520 instead of a 1420. I guess the color alone is not the problem for the delay, it might be the LCDs also but I called the Dell customer service today and the person told me that Jet Black/White/Brown were in stock and Red wasn't available and hence mine is getting delayed. Having ordered a Dell we are in a real pathetic situation. Its totally unpredictable...!!!

 

I ordered on August 2nd, in production since the 3rd but it's only been in it for 2 days though. Estimated ship date: August 22

 

Don't complain. I ordered two days before you and it's shipping two weeks after yours.
