NO WXUGA 1920 X 1200 screen on a bigger by 1.6 inch diaginol screen, I have a better machine with 1GB RAM(1,024MB RAM), 2.0GHZ Intel Dothan Pentium M processor with the 755 chipset. They may have a better graphics card but I can get the old CC card out an order any card I want including the the 256GB graphic card. Screw the idea of *NO* WXUGA 1920 x 1220 pixel screen even as upgrade forget that.[V]

I'm just guessing, but the screen resolution seems like something they could easily add more options for in the future. But the current catalog doesn't list any options besides WXGA+.

oh well, 128 9700 8x agp is still good for a notebook, make that very good, the notebook is excellent looking otherwise, not that heavy, thin, jus the screen res. could use some wrk but i could care less as long as i have a nice big view w/ good angles (ex: 1400 about would wrk). but the graphics card, dell should use this 9200 for like 1-1.5 years then make a 9250 or a 9300, after the Gforce MXM graphics (notebook upgradable cards w/PCI-E, ati has 1 2 but i 4gt the name) cards come out.

Well, the cat is out of the bag now! This laptop will go on sale in the next 1 - 3 days. Also, people have been asking about the 8600 update...the word is it will not be updated until Spring.

Something I found interesting is that I put together an 8600 and 9200 with the same warrenty and components, and it came out to only a $125 difference. I find that very interesting considering the 9200's screen size and ports. It makes me wonder where this leaves the 8600 in the dell lineup. The only thing I could see for advantage 8600 is that it's smaller and has a larger battery standard.

I got my Christmas Catalog from Dell and there is *NO* upgrade to WXUGA ever on the new 9200, with just 1.6 inches of diaginol measure which equals out to a heigt of 9.725 inches and width of 14.762 inches of inscreen viewing. WXUGA and no otion to obtain it, I'll stick to my dothan chipped 755 with a 2.0 GHz, 1GB RAM,and 80GB hard drive Intel M Processor w/centrino mobile, if I care to ever use it. My 15.4 diag Tobshiba LCD screen is 8 & 1/8" high and 13 & 1/16 inces wide of in screen viewing. 9200 computers only have 705 chipsets for their base unit, not the 755 chipset that I have. Jingle bells, shotgun shells, rabbits in the grass, take that Inspiron 9200 and shove it up your ass Dell![ :D]

I dont like it, too slim and i hate those exposed media buttons, the ones on my previous laptop had alot of problems and i believe it was due to things pushing them in and debris getting stuck behind them while it was in my bag..it stinks..and i hate it..and it sticks.

    Inspiron 9100- 3.2ghz P4 HT - 1gb RAM - 100GB HD - 4x dvd/cd burner -128mb ATI 9700.

I can't believe that the newest Dell 9200 notebook doesn't have the top Toshiba screen pixel display, it doesn't compute at all with all the talk of HD-DVD/Blu-Ray laser for 1080P not 1080i.[V]

    Inspiron 8600 2.0GHz
    Intel Proceessor M
    755 Dothan Chipset
    1 GB RAM Memory
    80 GB HD
    8 DVD+R/RW-CD-R/RW
    2nd CD-R burner
    WXUGA 1920 X 1200 Screen
    15.4 Diag. Wide Screen
    Logitech Opt. Wheelman
    64MB Nvidia Graphics
    Canon 370 M/P Printer
    Office Professional 2003
    T1 PQ DSL connection
