I read on the internet that Dell intends to release a new line of laptops, mainly the E6400. ANyone know about this? Also, when it might be released? I am seriously considering the Lenovo T61 b/c I have been concerned about the 1330 overheating. I really like the Dell warranty, but not sure that they 1330 is the answer b/c I can't afford to have the mortherboard go out like I have been reading.

I also considered T61 but changed my mind partly due to BSODs being a big issue that Lenovo didn't address for quite a long time, since around Nov. '07 I believe. Also if you get a grainy screen (which they like Dell seems to have on some) Lenovo won't let you return it without a 15% restocking fee and they won't exchange it because they say it is within spec.
Check it out, you can find alot in Lenovo's Web Site Forums, they are in the support area. -
Here is a link for you to check out, it goes to pg. 61 on the BSOD issue that still does not seem to be resolved.

Yes, it's the Latitude E Series. Search for it as it's been covered in a few threads already.

In a nutshell, what is a 'BSOD'? What are your thoughts onthe 1530? I am still a fan of the 1330 b/c of the size, but the overheating problem is quite concerning.

BSOD= Blue Screen Of Death, system completely locked up with a blue screen and an error message, system has to reboot it's self to continue. Unsaved work lost etc.
Have not received my 1530 yet (ordered on 4/28!) however my brother-in-law has one and really likes it. I will say I really like the look of the XPS laptop series. I got a 4 yr. warranty with damage protection at a good $ so I pulled the trigger. You have 21 days to return it if you want to I am pretty sure, so I figured what's to lose. I what a 15" widescreen for what I do. If I traveled allot I would be looking at the 1330. -

Thanks! It might be worth waiting a couple of weeks then. I don't know much about the Montevina, but I understand taht it is faster and uses less power. Now for the price...

The Fire Snake Notebook Virtuoso
This BSOD issue has been solved for new buyers. If you read through this massive thread, Mark said that any machine made CTO after 3/20 is fine since they used a new motherboard. You are correct however about their return policy regarding their screens, they are not flexible like Dell. -
The new T, X, R, and W lines from Lenovo are coming out around the same time to compete with the new Dell E line.
