OOOOoohhhhhhhhhh...I want that... Where to get a grand???
-
The "Design" page says up to: i7 (with 1333MHz DDR3), 900p screen, SSD flash, and a blue ray slot drive.
I'm waiting for the SSD and hopefully the 900p screen..... then I'll buy it. (and hopefully they will get the i5-540M)
Too bad they don't have new colors like that cappuccino one. -
wierd, the spec said 900p possible, but you cant select it, no option. and the highest is i5-520m, you can do the 540 or i7
-
I'm wondering if they'll make a 14z with the new i5? (hoping) -
bestbuy has the 15z with i5
-
this looks interesting..
wish there's more info and reviews -
As this is a new model, sad that they didn't go directly with the Radeon 5000 serie
-
well the 5000 series is kinda new and havnt released the lower models like 5450 and stuff yet ... 4530 and ddr3 is pretty good on a 14 inch already inho
-
It seems new models are slowly trickling out of Dell since CES. High hopes for a Best Buy version of the Studio 1569 being available with upgradeable options in the future as well as better upgrades for this new Studio 14 model.

Ordered mine from Asia a while back...waiting for it to be brought back to me this week. I would suggest potential buyers to hold off because the video card is going to be replaced by 5000 series very soon, as evident in the latest BIOS update and user manual. The 900p screen was an option on the Dell Asia site, but no SSD. This notebook has been available in Asia for some time now with the core i7, the i5 version came out more recently. Not completely sure but it appears that at least for now the 5000 series ATI card will be made available to systems with an i5 (1458) but systems with an i7 (1457) have not received a bios update for that.
-
The 5450 seems to be about the same as the 4530 but with finer process and higher clock speed (and DirectX 11 of course, not that this is so useful on a laptop)
-
The cards are basically the same for gaming...the beauty lies in the 5000's ability to transmit HD audio formats like Dolby True HD or DTS HD Master Audio in 8 channels and also that 2 streams of HD material can be decoded simultaneously for HD picture in picture.
-
Does this have switchable graphics? So if you want more battery life you can switch to intel built in graphics?
-
No switchable graphics yet, I believe you can get that only on the Asus ul30,50,80-vt models and some sonys.
-
How long does it take for Dell to give the 900p screen option that it advertised.
