I wouldnt take it over my E1505, it has no WXSGA+ option nor does it have a dedicated GPU option, nor did I see a bluetooth option.

It is targeted at a lower end price point, so it won't really have options that are present on more expensive models. Perhaps, at a later date, Dell will add some options to the laptop, and maybe bring some other models that have better options.

a downgrade to the e1505, way to go dell!

maybe this is good news for the e1505, as it'll turn to be dell's "high performance" 15", it could get some upgrades. don't think so tho =/

It fills in the niche between the b1 and 1505 systems quite nicely, I think its a great system for the price. If these systems start selling well, dell will add more amd systems, forcing intel to drop prices, competition is a wonderful thing for consumers. The ati integrated chip is also a great option compared to the gma950, its not a gamers friend, but worlds better over its competition, I personally would love to see this system in a 14" model.

I wonder what the fate would be for the B130 now that this model is out. It seems the B130 is already on borrowed time, as it uses a now obsolete Pentium M processor.

In the other thread on this board, several people have mentioned how the unit does not feature either the front media buttons or the Dell MediaDirect button. That's pretty sad; a bad idea IMO. But I do agree that it is a pretty good deal. I configured one with a Turion 64 x2, 1GB RAM, 80 gig hard drive, Dell wireless b/g, Truelife display, and a 2 yr Complete Care Warranty. All for only $1200 before taxes. That's a pretty sweet deal. The warranty is really what pushed it up over $1k. Oh, and the Media Center/Vista Premium upgrade.

It will be a better basic gaming machine with the X200 instead of the crappy Intel GPU.

its a good step up from the x200, closer to an x1300, nothing to drool over, but much much better than the gma950, its a good fit for the causal gamer
