I just got my new Laptop from dell today I'm very pleased with it. I Can play CSS pretty good but where and what video drivers should I download. Anyone that has the E1705 with the 7900 what drivers are u using? Are they the xtreme ones or the go series? Thx in advance

there's also coolbits, a registry unlocked overclock that's in nvidia drivers. this would require the nvidia driver.

Does Coolbits work with the Go drivers? I was under the impression that the only way to overclock the 7900 Go GS was by changing the video card's BIOS?

I could be wrong. My wife tells me I am all of the time.

Yeah, coolbits will not allow you to OC the 7900gs, a bios flash is the only way to do it. It's an easy process and if you follow the directions you should have no problems. However, overclocking is always a risk and can damage parts, so do not recklessly OC. Personally, I'm using Laptopvideo2go drivers and they work wonderfully. They are rather old at 84.29, but they've gotten good reviews and work well for my needs.

I left the video settings on what they were defaulted on so its like at 800x600 and alot of stuff on high. It looks really nice but my fps is like in the 70s and drops down to 40s and 30s wen im in big firefights. Should my fps be better? It plays smoothly and looks nice to me but wen I see the fps in red and at around 40 it worries me.

nVidia stock drivers from their site, not dell's stock, they're a bit older but the newer (dell) ones don't run FEAR Combat. also, with the 7900gs, there's no way you shouldn't be able to max out almost everything while playing at native res.

New question same thread. I was reading on a thread where som1 had heating issues with there e1705. They were suggested a download that could control ur fan. Can some1 show me were i can find a good one? Also in another thread some one was tlkin about there dual core cpu. They said that wen u go to control panel or somthing it would be split in two for each CPU. How do I look at that. Sorry if yall dont really understand wat I mean. But any help would be appreciated.

when you press ctrl+alt+delete you get the task manager. That brings up a window with a bunch of processes. Click on performance and you will see the graphs. There are many programs for controlling Fan speeds. Notebook Hardware Control is one, aswell as Speedfan. But if you know what you are doing to the fan, then you can try to tweak the fan.
