Insp E1705/9400 UPG: 3 Year Ltd Warranty plus 3 Year On-Site Service
I got all this for $857.00 not including tax w/free shipping.
FYI, I do not play games, but I mainly use this for seminary research work and a lot of reading online books at home--I may carry it about 5-10% of the time, if that. I am replacing my 4-year-old Dell laptop and felt it would be wise to go with the 3-year on-site warranty. Thanks again, and let me know if what you think about this deal.

Sounds like a great deal. Was the e1705 refurbished, scratch/dent, or previously ordered new?

Scratch/Dent which really did not bother me much. After reading the many threads on S and D, it seems that the majority of the time they are very small scratches that do not hinder performance in an any way. Thanks for the feedback!

Look out for the random beeping problem. Mine is going back very soon if a solution does not present itself. Check this forum. Lots of helpful solutions herein--unfortunately, none work.

Congrats on the purchase!

Also, I am going with this memory x2 to upgrade my system.

As a follow-up, I ordered my scratch and dent laptop on a Saturday night and received it the following Wendesday. The scratch was a small nick off of the coating on the top of the notebook (opposite side of the LCD) about the size of a tip of a pencil lead -- I had to look all over to find anything. I am so glad that I saved all that money by going through Dell outlet for a tiny nick that no one will even notice!! I also received my 2GB of memory from Newegg the same day. Needless to say that I was a happy camper! I ran SuperPi on it just to see what type of number I would get; I got 1:23 for 2M. I also burned it in for over 24 hours and nothing failed. I had an online chat with Dell to order my software/OS CDs and I am now waiting for those which I expect to be here shortly. I will then follow the directions on this forum to perform a clean install. Again, many thanks to all this forum for helping with my purchase decision. For those looking at purchasing a laptop, be sure to look at Dell Outlet and do not be afraid of scratch and dent.
Another happy Dell customer,
Brent
