I just got my new laptop and its awesome except that it seems that every image on websites (example being the smileys to my right as i type or the ad for u bid on the left) all come out looking like they are made of small little squares instead of smooth, small pixels. It becomes very apparent on facebook or on places that have text in the image. Is this because of the high resolution or some setting that i have yet to fix?

You need to change your DPI to 96. Go to control panel-->display properties-->last tab, select advance. Then change it from 120 to 96. That should fix the problem. Also check your native resolution and make sure that it is correct.
