Hey everyone welcome me cause i'm new here :)
I just bought (about 1 month ago) a XPS M1210 with the following specs.

    Core Duo 2ghz

1Gig ram for now, i will be upgrading to Mushkin DDR2 XP2-5300 3-3-3-10

256MB Nvidia geforce 7400 which i really only use for flight simulator and with almost all settings on high i push out 59FPS(it's limited to 59 to ease up resources)

    Sound blaster Audigy

60 gig 7200RPM 8MB cache hard drive SATA

    8X DVD burner

    9Cell batt

I love this system and after coming from my previous system (an HP with 64MB dedicated nvidia440 and a 15 inch screen, harmon kardon audio and athlon 64 1.7Ghz) i love the small form factor and the graphics power and battery life.

It's such a great computer, A few problems but after i reformatted and media direct install ( i have the DVD) All that DELL bloat ware was killing it and a few windows tweaks, this system flies i get such great performance and it's great to turn it on and see 7:21 hours left even though i dought it can go that long it's nice to see and the longest i have played with it doing all sorts of things was about 4 hours and still it had battery life a good big too.
Also i keep my screen at 4 and if anyway has any other questions, feel free to ask.

All in all i absolutly love this system it's great looking and great to work with and after almost breaking my HP cause i couldn't get more than 2 hours, i must stress again the love for a long lasting battery, i think i will buy another 9-cell battery.
    :D

    Welcome to NBR!

Yah, the 9-cell suprised me too. I previously owned an 8-cell 700m and I got 4:30 at best. But the 9-cell on the m1210 can be extended to 5:30-6 hours with the right settings. Let's just hope it doesn't blow up. :)

Doesn't blow up. Lmao. You never know with these Dell's and their Sony batteries, anything is possible.

Sony's batteries went through a problem a while ago too. The only other Sony part I have is my DVD drive and it went bad too :(

Yeah, looks like Sony is trying to screw Dell (and all the other companies it supplies to) over.
