I noticed this new laptop on Dell's site this morning :

Inspiron 14z Laptop Details | Dell

I am wondering how similar to my XPS 15z this is - I love the XPS but would prefer something smaller for carrying around.

Has anyone seen one of these or are there any reviews out there on this ?

It looks like the 13z is only being released in Asia thus far . . .
Only the 14z was released today in the USA.

14z still very heavy with small standard battery

might as well get 15z, for half pound more the standard battery is almost 50% bigger

no 900p screen on the new inspiron 14z. Dell should offer a 14.5 inch laptop with 900p.

I'm interested in the new 14z and have been researching it, I can tell you that it is nothing like the XPS 15z, it's much cheaper for one (starting at $599) and is not a high end performance laptop like the XPS 15z. This is somewhat disappointing, but at the same time I can't afford the XPS 15z and the Inspiron 14z fits my budget so I'm considering going with it. There's a review of the Inspiron 14z posted at Student Tech Guide.

The 14z looks pretty lame. No high-res screen, no discrete ATi or Nvidia GPU.

Also, only 4 and 6 cell batteries.
