I am trying to decide which screen to opt for on my new Inspiron 6000. I will be doing some occasional gaming, as well as Flash and video editing. I don't consider display extremely important, but I want it to be adequate and accurate. My choices are the WXGA, the WSXGA, or the WUXGA. What are the fundamental differences between them?

The WUXGA, is said to be better for gaming, but I'm not sure.

    Well..
The higher the resolution, the smaller the font will be which can be hard on the eyes for a long time. But, the picture will be clearer. Then you can always lower the resolution to fit your liking, but it will decrease in quality.

you really have to find a store that has multiple resolutions available for viewing. screen res is really a personal choice and all you're going to get are people's opinions and what they like which has no bearing whatsoever on what you might like.

here's a thread i created with screenshots of the 3 resolutions you metioned; it may help, but i still suggest you find a shop to check them out in person...

SXGA all the way... definately the highest I would ever go on a 15" screen, and it has an increase in quality over the regualr XGA with "brightview"

Keep this in mind - the higher the resolution, the lower performance you'll have in games. With a Go7800GTX it shouldn't matter, as it can power through any game out there, but you will get less speed.
