Hi guys,
I just want to know the basics about the laptop.
When I close the monitor and the screen is off does the computer shuts off or it goes in sleep mode ? When I leave my lappy plugged in the wall when im not on it is it recharging auto ?
If you have any other inputs chip in!

the system usually goes to stand by in this situation. You have to shut it down yourself. The laptop will recharge automatically whenever it is plugged into an outlet.

you can change the settings to do what ever you want
personally when i close my screen nothing happens (just a preference because i can do work and not want the screen running) and when i press the power button it goes to hibernation.
its really what you want. -
Take a peek at the hardware forum if you can; some nice info about battery life. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=91846
For instance, the charge-battery-to-full-when-battery is drained rule of thumb for preserving battery life does not apply to lithium ion batteries, such as ours in these laptops. You can extend battery life by pulling out the battery when plugged in the wall.
I highly recommend downloading I8kFanGUI and using either the manual fan control or automatic temperature control features. This lets you set fan settings so you can control temperatures and fan noise. I like to keep my laptop as cool as I can.
That stuff about what your laptop does when you close it or whatever, usually your laptop comes with a few things in the system tray thing in the bottom right corner in Windows. Clicking on those should prompt you to set those kinds of options up.
If not just right click on an empty area on your desktop and click Properties. Set up a variety of things there; feel free to click around. Under the Screen Saver tab, you'll see a Monitor Power section; click the "Power..." button to set up what you want the laptop to do when you close the lid and stuff. Go ahead and flip through the tabs and set things how you like it.
As dust gradually builds up in the laptop, a can of pressurized air is a really convenient way to clean it (available at electronics stores).

Not really, I need the basics about laptop that's about it.
Thanks for all the infos tough, but I really need to unplug my battery when i'm running on AC ? -
it helps with preserving battery a tiny bit if u are really concerned, but i prefer to leave it in as backup incase of a power failure or my brother trip over the plug .

Also, another thing, my media button in the front panel of the laptop... only volume are working but not displaying any thing.. is there any software we need to install for this ?
