    Hi,

Can anyone tell me when the new Intel chipsets will be released and start to show up in Dell laptops like the e1405 / 640m

I want to buy a 1405 and as it only offers integrated graphics, I'd like to be sure it will run Vista Premium / Aero Glass interface with no problems as well as playing movies out through S-Video on my tv.

I am in no hurry to buy, but I'd like to have my all new laptop by next April.

    thanks

    Philip

umm.. they said that it will be out in 1st half of 2007, that could be as late as june.. seing that Dell release things like that very early; i'm guessing... yeah you might see one in june 2007 at the latest

edit: you might wanna read this:

    http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/09/27/intel_intros_santa_rosa/

Q2 2007 is the best we can hope for. If you are not in a hurry to get a new notebook, you can wait. But I dont think that santa rosa(or centrino pro if you want to follow the intel nomenclature) will be out and widely available by then.

That and the price would probably go a lot higher because everything would be new. Dell might even change the whole design of their line ups because their sell has gone down and to compete with hp.
