    Hi guys,

Just joined this site. I m from India. I bought a brand new Dell Inspiron 14 with C2D. It s awesome, runs very smooth and looks amazing.

However, the base of the laptop i.e the keyboard and body other than the screen does not sit 100% firm on the table. Like when I rest my right hand next to the touchpad mouse while typing, the body will slightly tilt down at that point. Very slight but noticeable. It s the area where the DVD drive is located, the bottom right. Its not 100% flat.

Do you feel this in your laptop too? Can it be to give the DVD drive some space so it does not touch below?

I had a studio 1555 last week and it is absolutely fine. I can't think of a particular reason Dell would make it not flat purposely, it would annoy a lot of people. I could just be that you got really unlucky and the unit you have slipped through quality control.

I would try giving Dell a call and see what they say. If it's genuinely a fault I assume they will replace it.
