    Hey all,

I sent back my old grainy screen M1530 and am going to give it another go. This is actually a good thing, because I realized that I'm eligible for the university discount, so my initial laptop which cost $2030 after shipping is now considerably less.

However, I'm curious if any of you know a way I can get a better deal. It seems that Dell's sales/promotions are basically just numbers games. No real savings, just inflated costs and then discounts.

    My potential config:

    T8300 (2.4GHz)
4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (default in config unfortunately)
High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch LCD(1440x900)
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT
    320GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
    Slot Load DVD+/-RW (DVD/CD read/write)
Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy HD Software Edition
    Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Internal
    Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card
4 Yr Warranty and Accident Protection/Lo-Jack

    $1469 before tax and shipping.

    Can this be beat?
