Hey guys- after being a long time Mac user, i am finally making the switch back to a PC (xps 1530 is shipping as I speak, 8600GT, 2.2 processor, 2 g of ram, 200 GB 7200 hd, etc.) I wanted to get back into PC gaming, and it was between the alienware M15x and the dell (to get a M15x would have been almost 3k, and the only difference was the 3d card)- so I was not willing to spend the additional 1300 dollars jsut for the 8800GTX and the alienware name. SO ANYWAYS- i was checking on the status of my shipping, and cruised bye the 1530 page - and whamo- they now come with the 200 GB 7200 hard drive as the base option, and they now come with 3gb ram as opposed to 2. And the default dislpay is the high res 1680X1050.
Now i went and priced it exactly as mine was done (minus the 2g of ram- not an option now)- mine came 3 year accidental protection for free- now it cost 100 dollars, and the upgrade from the 8400 GS to the 8600 GT is 150, instead of 100. So all in all- the price is about the same- i jsut wish i could have gotten the 3g of ram instead of 2-but at least that is easily replacable. BTW- this is my firs tpost here- i love the community and appreciate all the post about the drivers and 3dmark06 scores-helps allot when deciding between laptop configurations. (my pc gaming is mainly MMO's, so I dont need a beast of a 3dcard and tones of hardware)- but it is nice to know i can play crysis and the newer games. Thanks allot!
