So, I just joined this site and would like to say Hi.

My problem that I know you guys cant fix but maybe can give me information on is why is my laptop getting delayed more while newer ones are getting shipped out?

I ordered mine on May29th, was suppose to be shipped yesterday(June 18th), now delayed til 26th.

I know its the battery but why are they putting them it seems in newer orders than older. And Customer support sucks, they wont tell you anything, its like they are hiding answers.

    My specs btw

    XPS M1530,
    Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8300 (2.4GHz/800MHzFSB, 3MB)
    Tuxedo Black
    4GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm
15.4 inch Black Wide Screen WXGA+ TrueLife LCD with 2.0 MPCamera
    Camera Software XPS M1530 2.0MP
    256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
    320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

You might be lucky if you cancel the order and reorder with 9cell battery.

Well, you could do one of two things as I see it. :)
One, you could just cancel your order, and order from a different company.
Or two, you could talk with a CS agent, and either demand (nicely) some compensation, maybe a free bag, or $100 off, or free extended warranty, or you will cancel your order.
Believe me, they value customer happiness, and will some times bend over backward to make a customer happy.
If you go with either option, just don't be beligerant, be polite, but firm, and just be honest, and they should work with you. :)
    Good luck!

You may also find, as I've read stories before, on threatening to cancel your order, you may find it suddenly, magically, shipped. ;)

Crying with laughter at you saying "they value customer happiness" . . . My computer has been delayed two weeks and no matter what approach I take with them all i get is "YOU CAN CANCEL YOUR ORDER or WAIT IT OUT".

I can only go on my (many) experiences with Dell. They often miss the mark in my opinion, but they do try. Some times it takes talking to the right person, which is usually hit and miss from what I've noticed.
Believe me, if they really believe you will cancel the order, I'm sure more often than not they will work with you.

It gives you a bargaining chip when you dangle the money in front of them, as sad as it is to say.

Can't hurt to try though. :)
And really, if you do regret your purchase, or have doubts, you can always cancel.

Yeah- I think you can throw logic out the door when dealing with Dell and the ordering process. It seems to be really the luck of the draw when you will get your computer.

If you cancel and reorder, you might get your computer faster or not, but just keep in contact with Dell customer service and I would try and stay in contact with one person- that way they might just pull some strings so you stop annoying them with your calls :)
