    Hi all,

I am looking for my first laptop in 5 years or so.. I have my eye on the Vostro 1400, as it seems to have all the features I'm looking for. Problem is, though, I'm a bit worried about the quality of the laptop.

    Things I've heard
    - 9-cell battery somewhat loose
    - possible noises over the headphone port
    - excessive fan use

And the 9-cell battery sticking out looks kind of annoying...

Anyway, tell me guys, are my worries reasonable? I really don't want to have to send the laptop back and waste time etc, I want it in time for school starting September.

I'm in Canada and the Dell deal on the 1400 only lasts until August 2nd... what should I do?!?!?!

    Thanks
