So I was able to find a case big enough for the e1705 that wouldn't break my wallet. Meet the Targus Miami City Gear. I found it listed on amazon.com for about $36 ( Here)

    Came in the mail today.

Fits nicely, has nice padding on both sides of my laptop, has a bunch of little compartments. I likes it.

Very nice bag for the price!
I would much prefer a backpack through, since side bag usually shake more.

I saw that Targus case at Staples when I was looking around for something, but it really seems that case will only protect against scratching and scuffing, and there really isn't any significant padding to protect 10lbs worth of computer from damage should it get bumped hard or dropped. Personally, I like Brenthaven. Tested one of the best for protection. Unfortunately, they are pricey, but you get what you pay for, and for a >$3000 laptop, I consider it good insurance!
