    Hi
The specifications of my dell inspiron are:
    2.0 Ghz Core 2 Duo
    2 gb ram ddr2 667 mhz
ATI Mobility X1400 128 mb Dedicated

I wanna know if there is a way to disable the startup of the following programs:
    windows security alerts
    wireless network connection
    local area connection
Synaptics Pointing Device(very buggin n annoyin)

And i want to uninstall the mcafee security center 90 days trial.
Should i do that directly from the Install/uninstall from settings

and one more thing i am using a Logitech MX510 and i installed the drivers i wanted to customize one button the program tells me to customize it from the buttons option but the only options there are linked with the touchpad :(

Can i somehow create a backup sort of thing thru a dvd which brings me to an exact point when the backup was created. I have seen this on my friends notebook he has an acer with the Software called Acer eRecovery.

I dont think you need to worry. My laptop always runs at and around 50C. When i do some intensive tasks it runs in the 60's or sometimes 70's the highest I have seen is 79C. Intel cores can run upto 100C. At 104C they lower the power, and 110C they switch off. Dont worry for temperatures aroung 50. If you aren using this software, try I8kfanGUI

The windows security thing is a nag..unfortunatly it's one of the many bugging points of windows. As long as you're not up to it's "standard of security"...it will keep nagging you...... The wireless network will automaticaly search networks when you power up caus that's it's fonction. You can block that by deactivating the card when you don,t need it. As for McKafee, it'S always safest to use the uninstall fonction from the Control Panel. Removing it takes 30 seconds and is the first thing I do when I reboot my OS with the Dell Ghost.
