    New to Dell - Question About Order

    OK - I finally bit the bullet and got (what I think) is a pretty good deal on a new E1505 (used a 35% EPP coupon).

    Anyways, I use Dell all the time at work, but never ordered one myself. I'm wondering about some things:

    - Practically within minutes of submitting the order, I got the 'Order Acknowledged' and 'Order Confirmed' emails from Dell. In the Confirmed email, it has my cust # and order #. When I click the order #, it cannot find my order. Am I just being impatient?

    - If it gives est. ship date of 8/4/06, what are the chances it might ship sooner?

    - What shipper does Dell use? (UPS or FedEx or other?)

    Thanks for any info!!! :rolleyes:

    (now - I need to go read up on how to do a clean XP install on the bugger ... )

    When you click on the Order number, it should give you the info page on the order. Of course, you just ordered it, so it might either not be updated, im not really sure... Just check back a little later, and it will show up.

    Dell usually over estimated the shipping date. With my past expeirences, it's been 4 days. So it should ship under a week, that is if all the parts are there, and nothing is back ordered.

    A majority of laptop shipments are UPS, but Fedex also ships notebooks. But i would count on UPS shipping it...

    No worries. My order didn't show up either when I first made it, but about 12 hours later it did.

    My package just shipped today (7/28), they say I should be receiving it 8/2 - 8/4. I'm excited!

    I don't totally remember the exact dates, but I think this is approximately how it went.

    On the website, it said that my E1405 is estimated to be shipped on July 19th. I actually ended up getting my laptop on the 17th(shipped on the 15th...ordered on the 11th).

    Mine was shipped from UPS.

    I checked this morning (approx 5 hours ago) and the order did show up, and it was just in 'Processing'.
    I checked again just a few mins ago and now it's passed Kitting and Build, and is now in Testing!
    That's what I call FASSST. Hopefully Boxing and Shipping aren't far off!
    I'm hyped

    Yeah, mine did the same thing. The Boxing faze took a few days, since that is when the notebook is shipped over from Malaysia to Tennessee.
