    New xps1530 defect?

    I got my 1530 on 12-31-08 and have not had the chance to use it too much but on two seperate occations it turned off (the unit shut off completely) while I was playing Medieval II Total War. Once while using the battery once while using AC adaptor. Any ideas? Other than that I love the computer. Both times I had the 1530 on a vented laptray (no fan). Any ideas on what could be wrong.

    Might just simply be defected if no one has any ideas just call Dell they are good about fixing or replacing defected machines.

    I would call Dell and get a replacement. It's probably just a defective motherboard. I got a bad one too :(

    if so it must heat up fast because it just happened again after being on less than five minutes and i am using a cooling tray.

    well i think the problem maybe that, the machine is heating up and some of the other components becoem too inefficient and it needs more power but the pc cant handle it, this is hwat happneded in my desktop where my gfx card was blowin 80degree air into the psu
