    News (based on research I did myself) on the 1520's

    So I went into Dell's site to build a computer (and chose the 1520, Core2Duo 7100). We keep hearing about this and that being the delay. I tried several colors and options, including with/without webcam and the only thing that seemed to affect the ship date was the color. If ordered today, here is what the ESD (from today) for the different colors was:

    Black, 8/24
    White, 8/24
    Brown, 8/29
    Yellow, 8/30
    Blue, 9/3
    Red, Green, Pink were all 9/6.

    SO, looks like it is the lids??? I am guessing so anyway. I was told the webcam was holding mine up, but apparently it's the lid, not the webcam since changing to having/not having the webcam did nothing for the ship date.

    I ordered a blue week about 15 days ago and my ship date is 8/26 :(.

    The estimated ship date isn't always accurate, based on the extremely varied dates I've seen from people ordering the colored inspirons. Also, from what I've heard the screen and lid come in a package, thus they have to order displays with and without the webcam. There's likely a shortage of displays with webcams, thus causing the delay.
