    What are the specs?

slickdeals.net is a great site to find deals on virtually everything. I check it out almost everyday to buy all sorts of stuff I likely don't even need
Just looks for the dell threads to see what's going on.

I looked in a Slickdeals thread about it, but I'm not understanding how they got the prices they got. $1285 for a 1330 with a three year warranty. Not configured much worse for what I was seeling at $178x. Cheapest I could configure it was with the $599 off deal, which comes out at least $150 cheaper for me than the $699 off deal.

I am heading off to bed but wanted to update everyone. I got the t8300, 256MB graphics card, home premium, 4GB ram, 200gb 7200 rpm hd, 1440x900 screen, bluetooth, 3-year warranty, a wireless mouse, etc. etc. etc. for $1377 before tax. DELL'S WEBSITE HAS BEEN CAUSING A LOT OF PROBLEMS FOR THEM RECENTLY. TO GET THE TRUE EPP DEAL WITH A 3 OR 4 YEAR WARRANTY YOU NEED TO BUILD THE COMPUTER IN YOUR CART AND THEN CALL DELL. Obviously this deal ended at midnight this morning...but I wanted to update everyone.

It is either the Employee Purchase program or some educational discount. Anyway, I'm not eligible for both... :(

BTW, Dell has pulled out the Instant Discount even though the site claimed Sunday, March 30 yesterday..

What percent is the "true" deal? Best I got in my cart was 8%. Do they bump it up to 12% if you call them?

Where did you see this info? I just bought one too and only saw this in my confirmation e-mail: 320-6078 1 15.4 inch Wide Screen WXGA+ TrueLife LCD with 2.0 MO Camera for XPS M1530.

I'm also curious what make I'll get.

Darn, I wish I could have figured out how people on that slick deals thing got dirt cheap 1330s. Oh well. Maybe the deal on Tuesday will be better. (I'd really rather have a 1530 with an LED backlight, or better still a 1730, but...)

No, it always said it ended at I think either Midnight or maybe 6am-those are when the deals normally end. It was never going to run throughout Sunday. (And the deal is over.)

If you spend more than $1600 AND have a 3 or 4 year warranty then the discount should be 12%, but it probably shows in your cart that you only have a 1-2 year warranty rather than a 3-4 warranty you selected (or if you didn't select it, then a lower discount would be correct).

I went with the XPS 1530. I spoke with one rep online and he said they are no longer using the Samsung LCDs- but a phone rep could not confirm this. Also, online it was giving 6% if over 1600 and 3-4 yr warranty or 4% below. I called and they said they were having problems with this all day and they were able to fix it over the phone.

After clicking on the XPS deals Flash ad at www.dell.com I'm getting a webpage saying they will have "new offers" on the XPS M1530 and M1330 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (3/31, 4/1, and 4/2). That may mean a different sale on each day.

Is the 1530 supposed to be getting an LED screen?

Hopefully the Wenesday deal is a killer. FWIW, I was contemplating this setup the other night...had it in the cart but passed so it's gonna have to beat this.

$1461 shipped after tax with a $70 giftcard for the warranty.

    T9300
    1440x900 screen
    3GB ram
    200GB 7200RPM
    8600GT
    6 cell
    Alpine white
    Intel Wireless N Card
    4 year warranty

Back in the days it was easy to order a lappy with $$$ off and then call to downgrade the warranty, lowjack, and ram. Dell is aware of that trick and most reps will deny such requests...

If I remember correctly, a lot of those people had problems with built quality and grainy screens.

Just be patient and get the best deal. I would say that the best deals are in November to early January. If you don't want to wait that long, keep an eye on next week deals :D

Which is really too bad. I'd like a better GPU of course, but could live with a 8600GT (I think it'll be okay for at least a year for games-I don't need crazy resolutions or AA)...but I'd like the LED backlight for a variety of reasons and would gladly pay more for it.
