    Hello.

    I have a dell inspiron 1525.

i am connecting via HDMI and the video works fine.

Audio, however does not work at all !!

I have tried setting the Intel(R) HDMI Audio as the default and it didn't work.

I also tried setting the S/PDIF as default but it did not work!

I am connecting my HDMi to my TV, and my tv is connected via optical to my amp.

    HELP !!

Remove the optical from tv to amp out of the picture and just use your tv speakers. Does it work then?

You may need to put your computer to sleep and wake it back up after switching the audio over to HDMI default. That is what I have to do in order to get the audio switched over from my computer speakers to LCD TV speakers.

Well. It seems as if my TV does not want to send the audio from the HDMI to my AMP (via optical)

    :(

Hmm... I really don't know, but on vista if you right click on the little speaker and you go "playback devices", you can set which output to go to (it's how I change between spdif headphones and analog speakers)... Maybe you have an hdmi option (if you installed drivers?)... Just a theory!

Yeah, there should be an HDMI audio option under playback devices.. as there is for the M1530.

Do the PC speakers automatically shut off when a HDMI cable is plugged in? Or is it always necessary to go to the Volume Controls each time to set the audio output to HDMI?
