    No Microphone on E1705/9400

    Hi all

    Ive got the 9400 and i cant get the microphone to work at all, it does have one doesnt it? Ive been through all the sound settings and ticked boost the microphone and the slider is on max but still no joy.
    Has anyone alse had this problem?

    Unless dell changed it, it only has a line out port. You have to supply the microphone.

    hahahahah man did you get an instruction manual or at least look at the big card thing that came in the box?? (i think its a quick start guide or something, its basically a big diagram of the 9400 with all the I/O's numbered and pointed out).

    Its got a mic input right next to the head phone jack (right hand side about half way up) You need to plug a microphone into it to get it to work (as there is no ibuilt in microphone speaker/reciever). You can't just shout at the machine and expect it to hear you, you've got to plug something into the mic port :)

    well as ive already learnt it doesnt have one, although the sound would of been low quality they could of provided one the tight fisted w*****s
