Just wondering whether they got rid of this or just bundled it in as standard now. Ordered a couple of weeks ago and it's arriving on Monday, I've been through all the build options on the website and there is no option of selecting the fingerprint reader as an option.

There was a part for biometric security but that just had facial recognition software as an option.

Any answers would be great but I guess I will find out in a few days :D

The best way to find the best things is to go to the "deals on 17-inch" link. Then, you can choose a video card, and you can choose many other options not available when you go directly to the main section for laptops. Also, just an FYI, you can not choose both the Enhanced Recognition Webcam, and the Fingerprint reader; only one can be used on the laptop. I think this isn't a good decision, as it really doesn't have anything to do with eachother, more or less, I am just guessing they figure they would only need to offer one or the other, not both. It may also be related to motherboad configuration, and simply not designed for both. There may be two different configurations, one for webcam, and one for fingerprint reader, but I am pretty sure that the actual webcam recongition is software based, and built into the actual hardware code. If I recall correctly, this same technology is used to prevent theft, and in those cases, it is built-in to the motherboard. Who knows, but I know you don't seem to be able to get both.
