So I received a brand new Dell Inspiron 1525 yesterday (great notebook btw) and I notice that there was no remote control included with my package. I have watched some unboxing videos on YouTube and see that some have the remote control.

Was it supposed to be included or was there a special option I missed?

If it is supposed to be included, could I call Dell and have them send me over one?

    Thanks.

P.S. Shipping took 5 business days via DHL and the lid is not loose.

I thought the remote was only included with XPS systems. Are you talking about the expresscard remote?

So if they are supposed to be included, then call up Dell Customer Service and ask for one to be sent to you. I am sure its not a big deal for them. However, check you packing slip and see if you were supposed to recieve one. Sometimes Dell CS may give you some trouble if its not included in the packing list.

They are only included with XPS. For inspiron its an extra $15 and more for vostro but I don't remember exactly.

Sero, thanks for the information. This is what I thought was the case as well, but X2P vehemently denounced that :D

Oh well...I hope it all works out for the OP!

Both of my vostros did not have a remote. It was an option. They sell refurbished ones for around 10 bucks often if you check dells site.

That's not fair, considering they gave me 2 remotes with my XPS.

Perhaps this may be because you purchased from the Asia-Pacific division (I am just assuming this because you mention your location to be Japan, correct me if I am wrong??)

I realize that it may not appear fair that the XPS systems get it whereas the Vostro and Inspiron lines do not, but one must realize that Dell does charge a price premium for the XPS line and hence they are among the "goodies" included (i.e. leather CD binder, sleeve, headphones, etc.)
