I have honestly hardly seen anyone who has ordered an alpine white 1520? Do you guys think they look bad or something? Thats what I ordered so now Im kinda happy though because it seems that the alpine white isnt nearly as in as much demand as the other colors. I was talking to someone over on gamefaqs and he ordered his a couple of days before I ordered mine and he got his in exactly 2 weeks later being this past thursday. We ordered the exact same notebooks except I ordered on the 1st so I'm hoping to get mine in early next week hopefully! My grandmom got it for me for a grad present so she has all the info so I can't check up on its status though. I'm not trying to bug her about it just being thankful. Seriously though does anyone think the alpine white looks bad or something though?

i ordered it for a 1420. it is, without doubt, the least popular color for the new inspirons. i believe people either don't want to order the generic black/white laptops OR they do not like the glossy finish.
i've personally seen the lid on a dell kiosk and i am quite happy with it. -
It doesn't look bad to me. It's just not as unusual as the other colors.
If the white had come in a Microsatin finish, I might have ordered one.
Does yours have any problem with fingerprints? -
My opinion it looks to Apple... but who cares if you have no delays, it would be just like an apple then.
-
The white is definitely my favorite, my gf already ordered it in white, and while I don't want to be a copy cat, I just like the white that much.

If I ordered an Inspiron I wouldn't have gone with the Alpine White because you would probably have to clean the lid. The white attracts fingerprints pretty easily too. Another reason is that I'm a straight up Apple hater and I wouldn't want people to think I was getting an Apple substitute.

I'm crazy about my 1520, and for some reason fingerprints are not a problem
-
i think many people opted from the white because white gets dirtier easier? and it doesnt really 'stand out' as much as the other colors might... some people might want to step away from white because thats what they used in the e1505s too...
i think the white looks pretty good (from the pictures that i've seen)... -
i love the white.. i got a vostro but if they came in colors it would be very very hard for me to choose between white and blue my 2 favorite ones.. i do agree the white in the microsatin finish would just plain rock
-
i got a 1520 alpine white.
and i love it.
some pics:
The gloss can be seen pretty good. I got it mainly because it is glossy.
After 8 days, fingerprints can be seen looking at an angle into the light, but from above....not at all.
I would recommend it.
would maybe get a blue though. -
I would of got white if dell made a way which it wouldn't show a lot of fingerprints, and it don't get dirty that easy.
-
I have an alpine white 1520 and I love the colour. It actually doesn't seem to show fingerprints that much, despite the gloss finish. And hey, I have that extra iota of cooling!
-
man that white is sweet i wish i got a inspiron instead of the vostro now..
-
I think the white looks amazing, I'm not sure why it's the least popular. I ordered a 1720 in the Alpine White, every time I look at pictures of it I am more and more satisfied with my choice.
-
i don't have one but from the pictures i've seen, i think it looks kick-ass.
-
I guess its not too bad ya. Still kinda macbook wanna be.
-
Sooo...when the alpine white is compared to a macbook, it should be taken as a compliment! -
i totally ordered it, i think microsatin looked/felt cheap at the kiosk
No love for the alpine white?
