    No more AUO panel for Vostro1400 my axx

    Today I recieved my 2nd replacement of Vostro 1400, it's got the same grainy AUO1447. (first one changed screen only, this time whole computer)

    I called Dell again, the person said they have no control of the manufacturer of the part. He offered me refund, then he offered me a free upgrade to V1500, he said NO COMPLAINTS AS NO AUO PANEL IS USED, what a joke! :mad: He even said SEC panel is for Dell US, Dell Europe only got AUO panel! :confused:

    The last Dell person clearly said there will be no more AUO panel for V1400, all will equipped with SEC panel, and the EDD is first week of Nov. But I recieved the laptop like 3 weeks earlier now, so it must be old stock, or that's just a lie.

    I refused to refund and now thinking to upgrade to V1500, or wait for a SEC panel which he said might not arrive shortly, or arrive.

    Dell staffs got good attitude, and I like the next day service but these are no use if they are story tellers. :eek:

    Upgrade to V1500? Actually V1500 is usually a little bit cheaper than V1400 with similar config.

    Just checked with Dell UK, it's impossible to get the same config, V1500 uses 160G HD (mine is 120G), and either slower/faster T7500 CPU (mine T7250) with GS disply (much more expensive), or same CPU with GT display which turns out 60pounds mode expensive. (don't mind that! :D)

    but the problem is, he said no V1500 use AUO panel which's simply a lie. So if V1500 is grainy again I'll really upset and refund as I hate heavy and grainy computer, then have to waste sometime to get another one. :(
