After something like 3-years of people assuming there's going to be a new Inspiron coupon after the current one expires, tomorrow there won't be. Dell sent us an email with the following information:
"As of 6 a.m. tomorrow, all coupons for Dell Home and Home Office Inspiron and Dimension systems will expire and will not be refreshed for the time being. We are currently examining the manner in which we manage coupons in the affiliate channel and until that process is complete will not have any system coupons available.
We, unfortunately, do not have an estimated time as to when new coupons will be released."
So this time last year they were releasing 50% off coupons ($750 off $1499) and going nuts, fast forward now and nadda.

Thanks for letting us know. That sucks, at least I got my notebook while the 35% off coupon was still in use but it sucks for others planning on getting a Dell notebook.
-
fortunately, i bought the dell with % coupon and stackable coupon.
-
I just now purchased my Latitude D610. Saved $400! Thanks to all your input!

Wow, thanks for the info!
That's a real shame, that was one of the reasons that I recommended a Dell, because you could pretty much spec out the whole machine, then apply the coupon and get it for cheap...ah well, times change.
Let's hope they lower the prices on the laptops a little to compensate for the loss of the coupons!! -
yes, it's doubtful they will leave the base prices as they are.
-
Dell missed it profit projections for last quarter. Maybe now the will lower the price on the base units and stop gouging on upgrades.
-
That's unfortunate. I've been waiting since January for Dell to release a good coupon for a cheap laptop.
-
Seriously, the main reason to buy Dell is because their machines are cheap..
if they're not cheap.. -
That's too bad. If they do in fact lower the base prices for the U.S., I sure hope they lower them here in Canada as I've been waiting out now for a good solid machine to be released at the cheapest price I can find from Dell. Hopefully the price will drop, on average, 10 - 15% or more on the machines and likewise here.
-
that totally sucks. luckily i got mine laptop before the coupons were expired, i feel sorry for people who still needs to buy one.
-
Whew, good thing I ordered last Thursday and recieved my I6000d today. Coupons saved me alot of money.
-
Has anyone noticed that without the coupons, their systems are insanely expensive compared to other manufactuers? Yet they say they have the lowest prices because they sell it to you direct.
-
i wonder why dell all of a sudden decided to check up on their status. maybe they are losing money or something. lol all that 750 dollars and 40% :750: sure hits the spot. maybe somebody on the inside did something wrong.
-
These coupons eat into profits, but remember that the ratio of people using coupons to those not using them is still extremely small like <5% of orders.
-
Hard to believe anyone is gonna pay full price for a Dell.
-
yea..lol..i feel bad for the ppl who can't use them after 2morow...i kept waiting and waiting and waiting to buy a notebook...and it's a good thing i didn't wait 2 months longer...or else there would be NO way for me to get as good a notebook with the specs in it for the price i got it for!!!!
-
Woahhhh..! Thank God i ordered my 9300 two days ago with a 45 % off coupon !
-
The only reason I am not buying a notebook yet is b/c I am waiting for Dell's new coupons. If I don't see any good deal from Dell this wk, I'll buy another brand, e.g. Fujitsu. I'll wait and see what kind of marketing gimmick Dell is using this time.
-
I still buy Dell if there are no coupons. Dell notebooks are still the best for the price. Forget the price. Dell is the best.
When ordered my 9300 with $750.00 coupon, they upgraded my order to next day shipping for free. The second time I called, asking why it takes more than usual to ship, Dell gave me a $50 dollars coupon. I then got the notebook and didn't like the video card I had, Dell took it back and paid for the shipping charge, built me another 9300 and applied all the coupons they gave me for the second notebook with the 6800 video card. Now that is service. -
wow, just got my 9300 with a $750 off and a stackable $50 .
sad to hear they're dropping the program -
Wow, I just ordered my system last saturday, and I had no idea! I have bought eight Dell computers in the past three years, I own my own business, and Dell is the only computer I will buy.
I just got an Inspiron 6000 three weeks ago, and I liked it so much I ordered a 9300 last Saturday, I cant wait til it gets here!
The specs on my 9300 are:
1.73 Ghz Pentium M
17" WUXGA Monitor with TrueLife (I know the screen might not be the best, but the business is buying it)
Nvidia 6800 GO
2915 Wireless W/Bluetooth
80G HDD
1 G RAM (I know you can get the cheaper package if you buy the RAM yourself, but once again, the company is paying, and I heard the RAM from Dell is better quality)
I used a $750 Off coupon I found on techbargains.com and the total price came to $1430.
I tried using the 45% off coupon, but they didnt let me use it with the configuration I wanted. They wouldnt let you choose video cards (128MB only) and they made you buy 3 years of antivirus @ $119.00, which is a ripoff. I got a better deal with the $750.
Its gonna be weird without the coupons, thank god I ordered and didnt wait!
I cant wait to watch a DVD on this sucker! -
Who is going to buy dell now without the coupons especially when the notebooks is not top quality. I just configure a Dell 700m it came to 2.000$ when before was 1.200$ with a coupon.Fujitsu,ASUS and IBM here we come
-
I am still buying Dell without the coupons and Dell notebooks are TOP quality.

This is entirely a sham... or, if you happen to own stock in Dell, it's a good business strategy
The whole reason these massive discount coupons have been flying out every week is so Dell could get a large number of their high-end models out. This boosted their sales numbers (if not their profit) and put a lot of the flashy i9300s and XPS' out into the public for everyone else to look at and drool over. Now they've "pulled the plug" on the coupon program, and soon enough, you'll actually start to see people buying the stripped down XPS for $2-$3k just to "keep up with the Jones'". I'd be pretty surprised to see the prices drop very much, but I give it another 6 months or so before people wake up and quit buying, which will bring Dell's next incarnation of the coupon program. -
That's kind of sad. I only bought my dell because of the coupon. I wonder if their sales will take a big decline because of this.
-
so i can't get any coupon to work if i decide to order a dell laptop today?
-
Who started this rumor that Dell is not giving out coupons? Dell is still doing it and I just bought another 9300. Yes, the coupon will work but there is a limit for the first few thousands.
